The two ways of using Xplo
Xplo is supposed (1) to build, edit, visualize and extract architectural data ; and (2) to run individual level 3D plants growth models. These two goals are achieved by two alternative ways.
- The Xplo Editor was designed to handle architectural data: build, edit, visualize and extract.
- Architectural level growth models for various plants may be added in Xplo by modellers with the help of the AMAPstudio developers, according to the AMAstudio charter (see Who can join AMAPstudio). These models can then be used to run simulation from Xplo.
The Xplo editor
To use the Editor, start a new project in Xplo and choose the Xplo Editor.
- you may load an opf file containing the plant you wish to work on (it will appear in the 3D view and plant browser)
- or you may create a new plant (an empty editor will show up, waiting for user actions to build the plant)
From this point, all actions are manual (see the next section).
Growth models
Here is a list of the growth models available in Xplo (8.11.2019). Each model has its specific objectives and approach, they can be run from Xplo by selecting them at project initialisaiton time.
